Notes from a long weekend.

This long weekend brought a lot of relaxing with family and friends and eating all possible meals outdoors. I'm really going to be sad when we have to fold up the picnic blanket for the season.

I had some important knitting/girl time which was so nice. You thought I forgot all about knitting, didn't you? Nope, it's just most of my projects are still secret for a while. How many days til Christmas? Don't answer that.

Here's a fun little hat I made for Corinne. She's getting so big and smiley and it was fun to give her some squeezes and smell her awesome baby smell. I love me some awesome baby smell.
We spent a day with my cousins, aunt and uncle. There were bubbles.Lots and lots of bubbles. And a huge yard to run around in. A toddler's dream.

We ate dirt of the dessert kind. What's not to love about some crushed oreos and pudding? Let's just say that The Boss (she's the youngest in the family by twenty some years) was not the one who requested this dessert. No, it was my twenty something cousin. There was not a speck of dirt, or worm, left by the end of the night. Apparently, we're all still kids. And that's a very good thing.
And fresh salsa with my homegrown cilantro on the side. I'm nice and keep it out of the batch so The Daddee will eat it. He's not a fan. I can't get enough. Somehow we stay married:)
Hope you had time to knit, visited family and friends, squeezed and smelled an awesome baby, blew bubbles, ate outside in the nice weather, acted like a kid, and ran around a big yard this weekend, too.

Dirt
1 package of oreos, crushed (or pulverized in a food processor)
4 small packages of instant chocolate pudding (or 2 large)
1 container of whipped topping
gummy worms
I mixed half of the pudding with the whipped topping and left the rest of it as is. Layer oreo crumbs and pudding as you wish in single serving sized cups. It doesn't have to be perfect. It's dirt! Top with gummy worm(s).

Fresh Salsa
amounts are based on the preferences of this family. Adjust amounts according to your taste.
5 roma tomatoes, seeded and diced
2 jalapenos, seeded and diced
1/4 of a red onion, diced
juice of 2 small limes
handful of cilantro, chopped
Mix together. Enjoy with tortilla chips--makes a great mix in for mashed avocados!

I actually knitted something from start to finish this weekend! I missed the baby smellin' since I didn't work, but I can't complain since I get that often enough.

What a lovely weekend! Can we have a knitting get together? I have not knitted since Pog was born. I need to start over, and I need to be making some of those adorable hats.
