Battle the brrrrrrrrrr.....

You don't need me to tell you it's darn cold out there. The snow taunts The Boss as she doesn't understand the whole wind chill factor thing. To her, snow=sled and snow=make snowman and snow=coming in for hot chocolate after playing in the snow. I assured her there will be plenty of time to build another snowman.

In fact, I made some accessories for him!
Ok, really, the hat is for me. Love all of the colors. Love them. But....I realized that maybe I'm not really a multi-color wearing girl. I waver back and forth on it. I might do some matching mittens though because I think they'd be really pretty mittens. I think I need to stick to solids or semi-solids for me. I like wearing it though since it fits me perfectly and it definitely keeps me warm.

This is the scarf I made for my brother Steve for Christmas. He's a pretty earthy guy and not one to wear a lot of color, so I wanted to stay pretty muted. Once I got about half way done, I was even more certain he'd love it. I got comments on it every time I worked on it during my commute. My husband all of a sudden wanted a scarf, too.
My neighbor Brian scoffed when I said I was making a scarf in that 'will he even wear it?' kind of way, but he sang a different tune when I showed it to him. Then he said, "oh, that looks like something you can get at the Gap" which I took to mean it was an acceptable man knit. Except this has love in it and you can't buy that at the Gap! I stole the scarf back from Steve just for a wee bit so that I could give it a good soak and lightly block it since I didn't have time to do those things prior to wrapping it up. Oh my, did this get even softer. I really didn't want to give it back, but I think that just means I'll have to make myself a more colorful one for myself.

Oh wait, didn't I just say I wasn't a multi-color kind of girl?

I prefer solids for me too, except for sock yarn. I have never bought a solid sock yarn!

Even a semi-solid, Amanda?

I heart the button! Where did you get it?

Love them both, but I especially love the hat. Those colors are great!

You are so awesome. I stand in awe of your knitting. Seriously. When I have more time (I told you I'm a reader first), I really do want to improve my knitting.
