Think pink

A post I was too tired to write yesterday:

I'm so thankful that I have been given this blessing of motherhood and that I still have my mom around to celebrate, too. We celebrate her because not only is she my mom, but this year she is a survivor of breast cancer. So naturally, we raced for a cure with my family and friends on Mother's Day. I know it meant a lot to her.

The Boss got all pinked up for the occasion (I think she looks better in brights). She's wearing a hat that I made for her and amazingly, she kept it on--probably just because it was Mother's Day and she thought she'd give in a little. The pattern is the Children's Cotton Hats from Last Minute Knitted Gifts. Despite the fact it was very early in the day and pretty chilly, she was in a surprisingly good mood!

I couldn't help but tear up occasionally during the walk looking at the stories that were evident on the back of t-shirts. Fortunately, we were able to walk in celebration--even in the rain--and that made me feel better.
Racing for a cure is a little tiring though (but worth it).
Just like motherhood.

What a great Mother's Day gift!

I love the hat you made the Boss... I will have to look for that pattern.

Happy Mother's Day!

I just love that you used cute ribbon instead of an i-cord for the hat! It's so pleasing to see how other people adapt patterns. Are you on Ravelry?? Thanks for the cute comment on my blog the other dat, btw! -kim
