I'm it.

I've been tagged by both Annie and Cara. My first meme!

So, the criteria was as follows:
Name five things that you can't live without. It can't be a person, it has to be something material that actually makes your life easier. It can't be something in general, it must be exact. Also, it can't be the obvious like a cell phone or computer.

1) The almighty Swiffer. I love it so much that I don't know how else you really get all the dust off the floor any other way. When they first came out I bought the Swiffer Max which is at least twice the width and length as a regular sized one. I never see them anymore and when I find the refill boxes, I buy them all up immediately.

2) Brother's All Natural Fruit Crisps : It can't get much easier and healthier when it comes to snacks on the go. If you have a little gremlin that needs to be fed every few hours, these are PERFECT. Or when dinner isn't quite ready and you need to get them something to eat. They have a big variety, but we tend to get the Asian pear and Fuji apple combo box at Costco instead of finding the individual bags. It's a snack I don't have to weigh the nutritional value and I know that The Boss isn't eating junk or added sugar. To say she loves them is an understatement. When I included these in her birthday party treat bags, I think I had an email from every single parent the next day wanting to know where I got them because their kids went crazy over them as well. Oh, and us adults like them, too. It never occurred to me to look these up online and it turns out they have more variety than I thought. Where's my credit card?

3) It's been said before, but I'll say it again. The DVR. I love you, DVR. You taped my shows when life didn't permit me to watch them in real time or when I had dueling TV commitments. You were there for me and provided me with ample entertainment while I nursed my baby for countless, countless hours. I love how you know when it's a new show or a repeat. All with a touch of a button. You should really win a peace prize of sorts, DVR!

4) The internet: Perhaps this is too general and not material enough, but I have to go with it. Am I going to be fired from blogging for breaking the rules?

I probably would have lost my mind by now without the ability shop online, keep in touch with my friends, research my child's baby gear or even her behavior for that matter. The ability to buy things without having to deal with the mall is huge! Especially when I was pregnant. I had some severe people/store rage. There have been a number of Christmases where I avoided the masses almost entirely. My brother claims that it takes the spirit of out things, but I didn't hear him complain when I scored him something that would have been impossible to find in a brick and mortar store. Oh, and let's not forget that my husband and some great friends came by way of the internet as well. They definitely make my life easier! I think right now the only important thing I didn't buy off of the internet was my child! I swear, I didn't.

5) It may not make my life easier, but it sure does make my life better. Well, I could argue that anything that makes your life better does in fact make your life easier.

Bonne Bell Lipsmacker, flavor: strawberry and only strawberry, although I flirted with kiwi a few times. Go ahead and laugh and snicker, I don't care. I've been using this stuff since I was I don't know, 15? Yep, it's kid's stuff, but I can't help it, I haven't found anything that I liked more on my lips than this and believe me, I've tried them all and at all kinds of prices, but I love my $1.30 Lipsmacker. Anyway, Lord help me if they ever stop making it. I buy like five at a time just out of sheer fear that they might. Once I saw Sarah Jessica Parker on David Letterman talk about her love for the Bonne Bell Lipsmacker and I felt so relieved that I wasn't the only adult in the world that felt this way. The only difference is that she probably received a lifetime supply after that little plug. I would certainly welcome it, you lovely, lovely people at Bonne Bell.

I tag Emmy and Beth. Now you're it.

My Chapstick addiction is specifically to the Vanilla Mint flavor, but I'll stray in a pinch - there have been many times that I had to purchase an emergency tube. You'd think with about six tubes in various locations, I'd be covered, but I still manage to forget it on occasion.
I kind of feel bad now for not listing my trusty Tivo who has been with me since...forever, it seems. I hope she hasn't been offended.

Bonne Bell Lipsmackers are truly a form of crack...and I am a hopeless addict.

I had a collection of about 30 tubes of lipsmackers while in college. All kinds of flavors, some with sparkles, and one mega tube that was the size of a roll of quarters (and my favorite). I picked a flavor based on my mood. After forgetting to empty my pockets a few too many times before doing laundry made me decide to ditch my collection. Chapstick can really ruin clothes in the dryer! I am a burts bees gal now. Just two tubes. Although I second Jen, that Vanilla Mint kind is good too. And traditional "Chapstick" brand reminds me of my grandma. :o)
(wow, I have a lot to say about chapstick)

We may need to start a chapter of LLAA - Lip Lube Addicts Anonymous.

I'm also a Bonnie Bell lover! Nothing wrong with that...and I'm obviously a moron. I've looked for the fruit crisp at costco and can't find it. I'll be hunting again my next trip there.

Oh how I love the Swiffer. Not that you'd know it by my infrequent use, but still...
