Notes from the weekend.

I've never been one to go for all the overpriced pomp and pageantry of Valentine's Day, but I don't shun it either. In fact, I've always participated in one way or another, from classroom Valentines, dinner with friends, or cooking for my husband. I brought my little lady home from the hospital on Valentine's Day so the day will never be the same for me again. Anyone who brings a baby into their home for the first time knows exactly what I'm talking about.

The Boss threw me by choosing some monster truck Valentines to give to her friends at school. In the future, I hope she'll draw or color her own and certainly write her own name. As a result of her birthday being so close to Valentine's Day, she'll likely have multi-day celebrations for years to come during the week of her birthday.

We threw her a family party on Valentine's Day this year (in addition to the playdate party and a little party at school during the week). Everyone wore red or pink to play up the theme of the day--even the guys wore pink with great aplomb. It was a loveable day for sure. I really love the zoo membership we received instead of toys.
Today, The Boss told me it was her birthday again and that she's two. Just in case I considered having a day without a party for her.

Hope you had a loveable weekend, too!

We also have a zoo membership, so we MUST go one of these Wednesdays.

Henry informed me that he's going to be three. Over and over again.
